Bio:
Dr. Iyad Rock is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª University’s College of Business, where he teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, and financial management. With nearly a decade of experience in higher education and a background in both academia and industry, Dr. Rock is actively involved in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and efforts to prepare students for CPA certification and ensure compliance with CPA standards.
He is the founder and faculty advisor of the ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª Accounting Club, providing students with valuable opportunities for professional growth, networking, and active engagement in the accounting profession.
Dr. Rock’s research interests include financial reporting quality, internal controls, machine learning, tone at the top, and the integration of AI in accounting education. His contributions include published work in Issues in Accounting Education and presentations at American Accounting Association conferences.
Beyond his teaching and research, Dr. Rock is actively engaged in academic and professional communities. He serves on several college and university committees and is a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an 'Agent of Transformation' with the Center for Accounting Transformation, and a member of the audit committee for the La Salle International Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to both academic and professional communities.
In recognition of his leadership, teaching excellence, and contributions to the accounting profession, Dr. Rock received the Illinois CPA Society’s Outstanding Educator Award in 2024.
